Research
My research sits at the intersection of development economics and political economy, examining how industrial, innovation, and competition policies shape firm behaviour, economic performance, and inequality. I use **causal inference** and **machine learning** methods to produce policy-relevant evidence. On the theoretical side, I build **agent-based models** to simulate how large conglomerates (such as South Korea's *Chaebols*) interact with the broader income distribution—dynamics that are difficult to capture with conventional equilibrium models. **Research Areas** * **Political Economy and Labour Economics:** Income distribution, pro-competitive reforms, inequality, gender inequality * **Development Economics:** Energy economics, public policy, industrial and innovation policy, firm dynamics
